Matlock ARC Leisure Centre has a gym, fitness facilities and a 25m swimming pool. It is about two miles away, on the A6 this side of Matlock.

For outdoor swimming, try Hathersage Swimming Pool or the geo-thermal, spring-fed Outdoor Swimming Pool at New Bath Hotel in Matlock Bath.

Derbyshire Dales District Council website lists local leisure centres and swimming pools and a wide range of sports and health activities.

The nearest doctor’s surgery is Darley Dale Medical Centre with Peak Pharmacy located in the same building. There is also a Boots Chemist at 21 Causeway Lane, Matlock, DE4 3AR.

Whitworth Hospital in Darley Dale is a community hospital with an Urgent Treatment Centre open 8am to 8pm.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital has a 24 hour Accident and Emergency service.
